FTP information:
You must use FTP client software such as Fetch or CyberDuck
to connect to the FTP site.

Procedures for turning in work to the FTP site.
Create a folder for your work on your desktop that you will maintain a
copy of on the FTP site.Name your folder beginning with a number...
01 for the 8:30 class-- 02 for the 10:00am class and -- 03 for the 11:30 class.
the your LastNameFirstInitial.
Example: John Smith the in the 10:00am class will have a folder containing all his
work on the FTP site named-- 02_SmithJ
Copy or drag and drop the folder you create on your desktop containing your work
onto the FTP site. Please include previous work that you have already submitted in the folder.
Your personal folder should ultimately contain all the assignments you
have completed for the semester.
Double-click your folder in the FTP site to open it and drag and drop your
work into your personal folder. Submit your work as you complete assignments.
Please make sure to keep a back-up copy of your work in case of loss.
Please check your folder and add any missing assignments.
Assignments Include: Definitions, Decisive Moment, Self Portrait, Stranger/MugShot,
24 Angles/Contact Sheet, Stop/Blur Motion, Max Depth/Shallow Depth of Field,
Environmental/Dramatic Portrait, Houston Skyline, and the Photo Essay.
STEP by STEP Creating/Turning in Assignments
First: Crop and Tone the photo
Crop the photo for best composition using the crop tool.
Tone the photo using basic image adjustments.
(Basic Image adjustments to consider/apply
before moving photos to the new document)
Photoshop>Image>Adjustments>
Curves
Exposure
Color balance
Hue/Saturation
Shadows/Highlights
Second: Create a New Document page for your Assignment:
Photoshop>File>New
Create a new Document: a US Paper, letter size page at 300 dpi (Photoshop/US paper)
(either horizontal or vertical)
Move Photos onto the new Document creating Layer.
(each photo previously toned, adjusted cropped)
Resize photos on new document. Remember the magic shortcut tool:
Photoshop>Edit>Free Transform (or) Command+T (release)
*Then, hold the shift key and drag from the corner to preserve proportions on photos.
(You may also Free Transform Text without regard to proportions by moving the sides or corners of the bounding box.)
Use Text tool to add a Headline or Title.
Create a pleasing layout of elements on the page.
Add a Photo credit (photos by your name)
Each Photo and Type Layer should have a Layer Effect.
Add a Background color or image.
(use the opacity slide in the layer menu to fade the image or photo if desired)
***Save with file name in the format of LastNameF_assignment name***
Final document should be saved in two versions, first as a PSD or photoshop file
and then, "save as" a JPG file for upload to the FTP site.
Upload the .jpg file to the ftp site
